In September 2025, An Coimisiún Pleanála granted planning consent for BusConnects Galway: Dublin Road project. Galway City Council welcomes this decision.
As part of this decision, An Coimisiún Pleanála granted planning consent for this project to proceed. An Coimisiún Pleanála also consented consent for Galway City Council to compulsorily purchase a number of properties along the route.
Galway City Council is now (December 2025) moving to confirm this Compulsory Purchase Order.

I mí Mheán Fómhair, bhronn an Coimisiún Pleanála toiliú pleanála le haghaidh tionscadal BusConnects Gaillimh: Bóthar Bhaile Átha Cliath. Cuireann Comhairle Cathrach na Gaillimhe fáilte roimh an gcinneadh seo.
Mar chuid den chinneadh, bhronn an Coimisiún Pleanála toiliú pleanála chun dul ar aghaidh leis an tionscadal seo. Thoiligh an Coimisiún Pleanála freisin toiliú do Chomhairle Cathrach na Gaillimhe chun roinnt áitribh ar feadh an bhealaigh a cheannach go héigeantach.
Tá Comhairle Cathrach na Gaillimhe ag féachaint anois (Nollaig 2025) leis an Ordú Ceannaigh Éigeantaigh seo a dheimhniú.
